Landspitali is seeking an experienced nurse to join the Department of Haematology and Oncology. The department is a 30-bed inpatient ward serving patients with cancers and malignant blood diseases. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hours of work per week. Landspitali emphasizes holistic service tailored to the individual, family nursing, teamwork, and a good working environment. On the ward there is great emphasis on quality and continuous improvement. Individualised on-ward training is provided, as well as extensive support.

Qualifications

Haematology and Oncology outpatient department
Landspitali is seeking an experienced nurse to join the Outpatient department of Haematology and Oncology. The department is staffed by 30 employees providing outpatient services, each nurse accompanying their group of patients through various cancer treatments, where knowledge and experience are of immense value. Nurses work daytime hours but have the option of combining work at the outpatient and inpatient departments. Focused individualised training is provided and opportunities to develop knowledge with the support of experienced nurses.

Emergency Department
Landspitali is seeking an emergency nurse to join the Emergency department. The Landspitali Emergency Department is Iceland's biggest emergency department, providing emergency care. The working environment is diverse and lively with plenty of opportunities for professional development. New nurses receive mentoring and individualised training. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hour work per week.

Intensive Care Unit
Landspitali is seeking an ICU nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit E6. The unit is a seven-bed ward that serves both adults and children in need of intensive care. Individualised training is provided under the guidance of experienced nurses. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hour work per week.

Pulmonary department
Landspitali is seeking nurses to join the Pulmonary ward A6. Both experienced and newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply. The department is a 19-bed emergency inpatient ward and is Iceland's only specialized pulmonary ward. Individualised training is provided under the guidance of experienced nurses. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hour work per week.

Landspitali is seeking nurses to join a surgical department. The department is a 22-bed inpatient ward serving patients who are experiencing disease in the upper and lower digestive tract and urinary system. We provide individualised training with emphasis on professional development. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hour work per week.

Qualifications

Department of Geriatrics
Landspitali is seeking nurses to join the Department of Geriatrics. The department is combined of two specialized wards, a 14-bed ward for patients with dementia and a 9-bed hospice ward for elderly patients.

Forensic Psychiatry and Security ward
Landspitali is seeking an experienced psychiatric nurse or qualified nurse interested in psychiatric nursing. The department combined two specialised wards: an 8-bed secure psychiatric ward providing specialised treatment and rehabilitation of patients with major psychiatric disorders, and an 8-bed forensic psychiatry ward providing specialised treatment and rehabilitation of patients with major psychiatric disorders who are unfit to plead. Emphasis is placed on good service to patients and their families, and on the safety of patients and staff. The work is carried out in shifts with 32-36 hour work per week.
