Pediatric Oncologist - Children's Hospital in Iceland
A position is open for a medical doctor with specialization in Pediatric Oncology at the Children's Hospital in Landspitali University Hospital, Reykjavík, Iceland. The position is 100%, unless otherwise agreed.

The Children's hospital provides specialized family- centered healthcare services for children and adolescents up to the age of 18. All services emphasize identifying needs and increasing the well-being of clients.

Individualized on-ward training is provided, as well as extensive support. Work is carried out in shifts with 36 hours of work per week.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients
- Taking part in general work as a pediatric doctor, working shifts acc. to plan
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Participate in clinical decision-making and contribute medical expertise to improve patient outcomes
- Engage in continuous medical education and contribute to the development of innovative healthcare practices
- Support patient and family education on treatment options, health management, and preventive care
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education that meets the requirements as defined in the regulation on the education, rights, and obligations of registered doctors and criteria for granting of licenses and specialist licenses. The regulation is issued by the Healthcare Practitioners Act.
- An Icelandic medical license as a Pediatric doctor
- Subspeciality in children¿s oncology
- Enthusiasm, positive attitude, flexibility, and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
- Knowledge and experience in safety and quality work is an advantage.
- Experience in teaching and basic/clinical research is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Criminal record

Full-time employment (100%) means working only for Landspitali and this is paid for extra according to the current collective agreement between the Icelandic Medical Association and the Icelandic State (from November 2024).
